New work to share

Hello folks,

I am proud to present a new artwork for sale in my shop. {stay tuned to the blog for updates about my new shop venue, coming spring 2012}

The piece is entitled "The Recital," and depicts a budding violinist performing a solo. This piece was inspired by watching videos my fellow blogger and Etsian "Tollipop" posted of her musically gifted daughters. Thank you, Tollipop, for sharing these wonderful videos, I hope your daughters continue to succeed in all of their musical endeavors.

On a side note: I wish I had been pushed to continue playing my oboe. I played faithfully from 5th grade up until my junior year of high school and sadly lost interest. My poor little oboe is now tucked away hibernating somewhere in a closet...

Night Tennis

Can I just say how refreshing it is to play a game of tennis at night?  A cool breeze kept blowing and we had a beautiful sky in the background.  We are so lucky to have such a nice park in our area.

My First Blog Entry

Welcome to The Sparrow Moon blog.  I'm Laura, and I am launching this humble blog to:

connect with other artists, and creative bloggers; and share my work and interests through personal photos.

Who am I?

I'm an internationally collected visual artist living and working in beautiful Kentucky, USA.  I have a small shop on Etsy where I sell my work and enjoy interacting with other artists and crafters.

 {stay tuned to the blog for updates about my new shop venue, coming spring 2012}

I am interested in good books and films, healthy eating and exercise, photography, buying locally, art and craft festivals, and much more.  I earned my B.A. in Studio Art in 2009 and am happily married to a quiet writer who inspires me daily.  We live a simple life with our little dog and three cats.

I hope you will stay tuned.
